Welcome to VIP DANCE! If you're reading this, you're probably curious about who we are, what makes us different, or whether VIP might be the right competition for your dancers. So instead of a corporate "About Us," we wanted to simply sit down and write you a note — from our team to yours.
We're not just another dance competition — we're a family. A hard-working, sparkly, incredibly supportive family that believes every dancer deserves to shine.
Our Story
VIP was founded with a simple but powerful belief: dance competitions should feel like celebrations of talent, hard work, and pure joy. We created VIP DANCE to be the kind of event where studio owners, teachers, and dancers feel at home on our stage and look forward to returning year after year.
With a passion for business, technology, and dance, Stacie Collins founded VIP Dance in 2006 after graduating from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and minors in dance, sociology, and speech communication. She grew up in competitive dance and spent years teaching and choreographing nationwide.
Today, Stacie runs VIP Dance alongside her husband of twelve years, Chris Collins, and they are proud parents to their ten-year-old son, Preston.
What Makes Us Different?
At VIP, the first thing you'll notice is how organized, approachable, and friendly our team is. We care deeply about creating a weekend that feels smooth, uplifting, and full of high-vibration energy — with polished setups, thoughtful details, and a genuine intention for every dancer to leave feeling confident and accomplished.
Our proprietary scoring system plays a big part in that. Judges use video critiques, visual graphs, and sliders across ability, execution, and composition, along with quick tags like Work On or Doing Great. It's clear, honest, and built to give dancers meaningful guidance they can grow from.
Then comes the celebration. Our Red Carpet award ceremonies, custom theme music, and beautifully crafted commemorative awards set the stage as dancers compete for honors like the VIP LIST Top 10, Best Studio, and special awards including Future Star, Stand-Out, Judges Choice, and more. Awards are always organized and fun — and within days, results are posted online with videos and award icons for each achievement.
Meet the VIP Team
We're incredibly lucky to have such an amazing Director team — Christie Sirota, Lauren Barney, Kate Martin, Summer Bonnecaze, Aaron Nedrick, and Melanie Creek — who not only actively work in the dance industry but genuinely love this community.
Our judges are hand-selected each season and trained by our Director team to provide helpful, encouraging, and thoughtfully delivered feedback.
And our staff? They're the energetic, smiling faces who make our weekends run smoothly. They care deeply about your dancers, and it shows in everything they do.
When you walk into a VIP DANCE event, you feel it immediately — the warmth, the organization, the energy.
Looking Ahead
As we head into our 2026 season, we're more excited than ever. We're expanding to new cities, introducing fresh awards, and finding even more ways to celebrate the incredible talent in our dance community.
But here's the thing — VIP DANCE isn't really about us. It's about you. The studio owners who work tirelessly. The teachers who pour their hearts into rehearsals and choreography. The parents who invest their time, energy, and love into their dancers' journeys. And most importantly, the dancers who step onto that stage and share their gifts with all of us.
